JOHNSON'S HUMMOCKS

JOHNSON'S HUMMOCKS RESTAURANT
located at 245 Allens Avenue, Providence

You could spot the restaurant from route 95 due
to its large and well lite sign facing the highway.
Upon finishing their meals, young children were invited to the large
treasure chest by the front entrance to pick out a small toy.
Just some wonderful memories!

  1. My parents took me to Johnson's Hummocks when I was 10 years old. I had an adult order of swordfish and ate the entire meal!! The hostess took my sister and me to a fishtank where we were allowed to reach in and pick out a prize (there was no water in the tank). My late father, Howard Winstead, used to supply the restaurant with lobsters.

  6. Celebrated my 21st birthday at J&H in 1968. We were seated in the middle of the dining room when the server arrived with cake and a sparkler...yes a sparkler! We then headed to see Tom Jones at The Tent....Warwick Musical Theater...those were the days!!
