    1. I only remember the red neon sign and free pizza. Every thing else is a blurry.

  4. I am a native of Johnston, RI., now living in CT. I can remember going to Barry's once in the late 80's with a friend. It was a festival of bimbos and guidos trying to pick each other up after sucking down a bunch of cheap, well drinks. I'm well into my 40's now but even back then I thought "everybody looks like Mr./Miss Universe at last call..."

  8. For about 18 mos, I worked at the predecessor establishment, the Volare Inn, a restaruant. Barry was the owner /boss and I believe he lived upstairs. The head cook was a really nice guy, only about 19 or 20 back then I think. He had a trans am, and I was so jealous. lol Vol Inn was famous -or infamous- for its buffet. The back of the dining room had a nice view of that little pond with the gazebo by it. One of the waitresses had the hots for me and let me know it late one night while I was helping her break down the buffet. Another time I got to work one sat afternoon and one of the waitresses had been fired or quit and she said that the place owed her some pay and they weren't giving it to her and she was really mad and screamed that her boyfriend was in the mob and something might happen if she didn't get her money. So of course, the whole shift everyone's talking about what they're gonna do or where they'll run to if someone comes in the place shooting. Was hilarious. ..aah the memories.. Never went to Barry's disco. I'm sure it was a hopping place.

  9. What was the name of the restaurant on the Barry's site prior to the Volare Inn? It was a nice place by the duck pond there.

  12. I remember Barry Nightclub from way back in the early 90's. I was in my 20's back then and it was a unique experience. I would definitely agree the crowd was mostly guidos and bimbos but it was fun getting drunk and dancing. The lights, the mirrors, the music, the Barry burgers were part of the experience.

  13. One of the best spots back in the day! had soooo many fun times there. Those cheeseburgers were the best part in the middle of the night to help suck up all the cocktails! I would turn back time to have another few nights there.

  15. I have great memories of Barry's, now turning 51 recently, I can still remember the guys wearing their CAVARICCI pants, and walking in circles around the club checking out everyone! lol...burgers were great!

  16. Barry's Barry's Barry's was a guido- bimbo nightclub. Greatest attribute- free burgers! Burgers were certainly better than the bimbos (Furburgers). However, I did F*** a few bimbos. Many were from Cr'a'nston or Johnston and spoke with a strong RI "ELMER FUDD" accent. Some had so much makeup on, one could caulk a houseful of windows with it! There was an A**h**e warwick cop who worked the door sometimes. I think his name was, Ed. I'm fairly certain that "Ed" is dead by now. I didn't frequent the establishment that often... I just happened to know one of the DJs.
