  1. Hi
Does anyone have any photos of the building? I would like to do a watercolor painting of Jack Witschi's Sports Arena but can not find any photos of the building. If you have any leads please contact Bill@junkyardartist.com.
    Thank You

  2. I'd like to know if anyone has additional photos of this place, or any photos of the weekly flea market that took place on the grounds there in the 80's after it burned.

Does anyone know exactly where this was located? I was young and my memory is fuzzy...

    1. If you know where the new movie theatre is on Rte 1 just north of 295, it's across the street from there. Between a gas station (used to be an Exxon) and a lot (now a car dealership) there is a road that winds up. Where the dealership is was a field, and in the back is where the arena stood

  9. I remember going to Jack Witchie Arena in 1967. Frank Scarpa was the champ. Also saw Wild Bull Curry, Sweet Daddy Watts (he had a bright zebra pattern jacket), Chris Belkas, Bull Montana, Gypsy Joe Falso & Hans Schmidt. They had some guys that had names close to WWWF guys. Gorilla Morgan & Smasher Bloom were tag team champs and big time heels. I was 10 & wish that I had hung on the programs. Probably went about 15 times over a six month period.

  14. Back in the 60's,on weekends when there was no wrestling, they used to have dances and our rock-n-roll band would play there. It was a rough crowd and many nights we would stand on stage with mic stands at the ready just in case the fights moved on stage. But when the fights dies out we would play again and I remember it very fondly and most everyone had a good time. I have no idea why I thought about this place after so many years, just came to mind and decided to search the Internet and low-and-behold, Jack Witschi's popped up. Is it still standing?
