this was a local home town hardware store that i used to go to until the big conglomerates like home depot and lowes pushed the small neighborhood guys out of buisness, this was a very good hardware store, information was free and prices were fair. sorry to see them go.
I LOVED THE PLACE. I WOULD ALWAYS BE BUILDING SOMETHING. I WOULD GO IN AND SEE BILL BESETTE. I WOULD TIE HIM UP FOR TWENTY MINUTES AT A TIME. HE WOULD BE SMILING ALL THE TIME AND JUST GO OUT OF HIS WAY TO ASSIST YOU UNTIL YOU WERE COMPLETELY SATISFIED. THE STORE HAD EVERY HARDWARE AND FIX UP ITEM YOU WOULD EVER NEED.I WOULD ALWAYS SEE MANY OF THE LOCALS IN THERE AT THE SAME TIME, I REMEMBER SEEING PEOPLE LARRY FROM THE LINCOLN GULF STATION DOWN THE STREET IN THERE MANY A TIME. I SAW CHET NICHOLS IN THERE ONCE. JACK- PAWTUCKET
The building was refurbished and is now a very successful Honey Dew franchise store.
I remember when they had a store on Benefit St. in Pawtucket.
