with 24 stores located throughout New England and New York.
On August 1, 1997, Montgomery Ward announced that all Lechmere
stores were to be closed as part of their bankruptcy reorganization.

Loved Lechmere. Anything they had was the newest model. Still have my Olympus 35 mm camera and it still takes great pictures. You didn't buy a TV that had been manufactured 2 yrs. before - they had the latest model.
ReplyDeleteBought a bunch of stuff for my first apartment at the Lechmere in Seekonk Ma. Dad bought me a fancy knife set there that I still use. You really do get what you pay for. Only set I've ever owned
ReplyDeleteMy Dad LOVED this store and we were in the Warwick location probably weekly when I was a kid, just to browse. My first CD/tape/radio stereo (a Sony) came from here. Fond memories with my Dad, the gadget lover.
