What happened to this place anyway...It opened and was a runaway success, ALWAYS a long wait to get in. At some point they closed for a while, remodeled, changed the name to something I can't recall right now, reopened, promptly went belly up. Someone made a really bad business decision...(?)Was torn down and an insurance company's headquarters was built in its place....
The place that opened was called Quilla's Looked like a run down Shanty. Could never understand why they did that Casa Lupita was very pretty inside, well lit with sunlight and the Brunch was amazing! RIP
My very first date with my now husband, was at Casa Lupita! We are now married nearly 26 years, must have been the great food and drinks that brought us together! Thanks for the memories!
My friends and our wi es used to go there often for sunday brunch while we were at URI in the late 80's. Good times. Bob and Mary, Steve and Shelly, me and Stacy, Sandy and Ernie, Andy and Lynn, Chuck and Lori...the list goes on.
Oh man… used to love this place. My parents would bring me there for my birthday in the late 80s and I could pick one or two friends to bring. The food was always good and the atmosphere was also really cool. I would totally go there today if it were still around.
Went there to eat a few times
